CMS began as a small machine shop, founded by Claud Miller named Miller Machine Co. Inc.. In 1979 Claud's son, Larry Miller, took over the business. Shortly afterward he bought out the assests of McKnight Machinery from Garner, Massachusetts, and began building machinery for the furniture industry. Larry renamed the business McKnight Miller Co. Inc. In 1985 we merged wih Medalist, from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, calling ourselves Medalist Automated Machinery, We produced a line of hi-tech automated machinery. In 1992 Medalist closed this division and we reorganized the business under the current name Custom Machine Services. We developed several machines for he furniture, textile, and converting businesses.

  Today we still offer all of the machines developed since becoming Custom Machine Services, as well as offering general industrial machine shop services and repairs.
